7 Healthy Back to School Snacks
It is already time to go back to school, and this year is definitely a special one! Because of COVID-19, many parents are homeschooling their children (with or without wanting to!), and the pressure is on to help with school work, classtime, and still prepare healthy meals and snacks. I put together a back to school healthy snack guide to give you some ideas and recipes for healthy snacks the kids will love (and parents too!). These snacks are perfect to grab in-between Zoom meetings, and boost energy levels for the students and parents. Teachers, these are for you, too. Triple Nut Butter
I never buy nut butters at the store anymore, because I love watching raw nuts go into my Thermomix® and come out a creamy spread that I can use on breads, in my oatmeal or in various recipes. It takes less than 5 minutes to make a fresh jar, and lasts in the refrigerator a month. My favorite nuts to use include cashews, almonds and walnuts. I add a pinch of salt too (it is nice to control the sodium content). What is your favorite nut butter? Disclaimer: I am a Thermomix® consultant and sell them as an independent business. “THERMOMIX,” “VORWERK,” “COOKKEY,” and “COOKIDOO” are a registered trademark of…

Basic Energy Bars
I am so excited to share this energy bar recipe with you today! They are my favorite snack to take along on a hike, or just for an afternoon pick-me-up when my energy levels start to get low. Of course, there are many variations beyond this basic recipe. You could add many different mix-ins, like nuts, seeds, dried fruit, coconut, or chocolate. The possibilities seem endless! To make these bars, I use my Thermomix®, which makes this recipe much easier. I…

No Bake Chocolate Walnut Bars
Disclosure: I received free samples of California Walnuts mentioned in this post. By posting this recipe I am entering a recipe contest sponsored by California Walnuts and am eligible to win prizes associated with the contest. I was not compensated for my time. Lately, ingredients have been scarce at the grocery stores for baking. I stocked up on a few staples, like nuts, cacao powder, oats, maple syrup and coconut oil, so these days it is easy for me to make this simple no bake chocolate walnut bar dessert with ingredients right in my pantry! No-bake desserts are the best, because they are almost always quicker and easier to prepare.…

Homemade Organic Raspberry Jam
I have always been intimidated to make my own jam at home. What if it turned out awful? What if it got moldy from doing it myself at home? How long does it last? I had so many questions. Recently, we bought a Thermomix® TM6, and it has a super delicious recipe in the Cookidoo® database for making raspberry jam from scratch. I was surprised how easy it was to do. I even learned how to sterilize the glass jars to put my homemade jam inside. Homemade jam can last one or even up to two years, and once opened in the refrigerator up to 3 months. With times being…
